Gold versus Gold Plated Silver
Gold and silver are often hyphenated as if they are siblings. Actually they are not. Gold is roughly 100 times pricier than silver these days and this trend is likely to continue.
While both are "precious metals," gold occupies a tier above silver in universal perception, financial value, and cultural symbolism. Thinking of them as "equal" overlooks:
- Gold’s unmatched scarcity and role as a wealth preservation asset.
- Millennia of gold’s association with ultimate prestige.
That said, silver has unique virtues (beauty, versatility, industrial importance)—it’s just not in gold’s league for status or store-of-value purposes.
For jewelry, gold remains the aspirational choice; silver is the democratic alternative.
The manufacturing procedure and the human skill (artisans/karigars) involved is the same for both our gold and gold plated silver jewelry. Sterling silver is physically quite similar to 22k gold which allows our karigars to give the same outcome and finish in either metal.
Therefore, the look and feel of either is very much the same.
Any product's price goes beyond just the materials it is made up of. This is especially true when the product isnt machine made or mass produced.
You’re Not Just Buying Silver. You’re Buying Skill.
Let’s be clear — when you are considering purchasing our gold plated silver jewelry, you’re not just paying for the market price of 92.5% silver. Infact, silver is the lowest contributor to the material cost in our gold plated jewelry with all stones and beads being anywhere from 2x to 15x the price of silver.
You’re paying for:
- The rare artistry passed down through generations of skilled artisans.
- The stones and beads, handpicked and set with care
- The hours of craftsmanship it takes to create each unique design
- The real gold like look and feel that results when the above are combined
Gold: All studded color stones used are natural. The pearls are freshwater kind. The beads in hangings and strings are also natural
Gold Plated Silver: The pearls are freshwater kind. The beads in hangings and strings are natural.
However, the studded color stones used are high quality but synthetic. Unapologeticaly, we do use falsifications like many others by calling them semi-precious etc. Synthetic doesnt mean poor quality. You are very likely to find the same in gold jewelry and sold off as precious.
Gold: The 22k gold net weight plus the studded stones will be bought back at 92% of the prevailing gold rate at any time.
Gold Plated Silver: You have the option to choose between a lifetime 40% cash buyback or an instant 10% discount at the time of purchase.
It is important to note that the 40% buyback rate exceeds the silver value by almost 3-4 times.
